Registering a deleted domain
From SuperbHosting.net Support Wiki
While there is no guaranteed grace period, SuperbRegistrar will usually retain expired domains up to 29 days. That gives the owner some time to correct a possible oversight in renewing the domain. If you are the previous registrant, you can renew the domain directly from within your account under Products & Services in the Renew menu.
However, domains may be dropped at any time without notice. SuperbRegistrar will not allow renewals on any name 29 days after expiration and may dispose of it according to the registration agreement. This is why we encourage registrants to renew prior to expiration to avoid disappointment caused by losing an expired domain.
After the delete command is sent, some domains are subject to a Registry 30-day redemption period and in some cases, an additional 5-day pending delete status. Therefore, it might be upwards of 65 days from the expiration date before a domain becomes available again for registration by the general public.
Please note that only .com, .net, .org, and .cc domain names can be reactivated after they have expired. All other TLDs will be deleted upon expiration without any grace period.
Once a .com, .net, or .org domain name has reached the end of SuperbRegistrar's grace period, the domain falls into a redemption period with the registry. The registry will hold the domain for an additional 30 days before it is dropped. There is currently a $160 fee plus the renewal year to recover the domain during this time period.
Once a domain is dropped, it can be purchased by anyone at any time. Should someone else purchase your domain, you will need to contact them and attempt to buy it back, or use the ICANN Dispute Policy.
To avoid losing valuable domains, you might chose to add multiple years to your names to ensure long term ownership. When you add years to a domain, the time is added to the current expiration date, so you will never lose time or pay for extra months.
