WHOIS information on registered .eu domains

You cannot change WHOIS information on .eu domains - this is considered a transfer and not available yet.

Therefore, be sure you enter your client's information when pre-configuring .eu domain registrations to ensure proper data is recorded with the registry.

NOTE: The information below was created prior to the release of the .eu TLD. This document should be reviewed and edited accordingly. [02.07.08 - JB]

How the .eu Pre-Registration Queue Works

To apply for a .eu domain name during Sunrise 1, you must enter it into one of our queues. We will then submit the names in the order they are received from each queue to the .EU registry when the registry opens on December 7. Soon after, you will receive an email from EURid with instructions on how and where to send your validation paperwork. After a review period by the validation agent, the name will either be awarded or rejected. This process may take from a few weeks, up to a few months, depending on how quickly you are able to get your paperwork in and how quickly the validation agent can review it.

eNom realizes that some interests have a more urgent need than others. To accommodate this, we have created two queues, the VIP Queue and the Standard Queue.

The VIP Queue

The VIP Queue is for your most important domains that you want to get as soon as possible. It is priced at a premium to reduce the number of applications in the queue. This improves your chances at getting your domain name because the registry will process applications on a First Come, First Served basis.

NOTE: There will be millions of EU members submitting applications! The domains you want may not be available, even if you have a Prior Right, because someone else got their application in first. This is why we offer a VIP Queue, to help you improve your chances in the First Come, First Served format.

The VIP queue has another advantage, as well. You will be able to find which place in the queue your application sits. This is not available in the Standard Queue.

The Standard Queue

The Standard Queue is for your domains that are important enough to get in now, but it's less likely that someone else may also be trying to get the same domain name. Remember that there will be probably be others with an equally legitimate right to the same .eu domain. Though they may reside in a different part of Europe, you both will be racing to get to your applications into the registry first.

Both the VIP and Standard Queues utilize eNom's industry leading technology and connectivity, giving you an advantage over other registrars. The difference is simply the number of names in each queue. You can use either queue, or both, to submit your domains.

EURid requires that all applications are submitted in the order they are received. eNom preserves this requirement with a two queue system, each connecting to the registry with it's own unique registry granted credential. Sipence is the accredited registrar for the VIP Queue. eNom is the accredited registrar for the Standard Queue. This effectively gives each queue it's own connection to the registry, each powered by eNom's industry leading technology.
