Registering .ca (Canadian) domains
From SuperbHosting.net Support Wiki
In order to register a .CA domain, you must meet specific criteria set forth by the Canadian Internet Registration Authority, CIRA.
For example, you must be a legal Canadian resident, Canadian citizen, or a company which has the legal right to do business in Canada. When you register your domain, you will have the option to select your proper legal type, and descriptions of each are on that page.
After you register your domain, you will receive an email from CIRA with your CIRA login and temporary password. You must log into the CIRA site within 7 days to complete the registration of your domain. During this phase, you will read their terms and agreements and attest that you meet their requirements. Failure to complete this registration during this 7-day period results in the deletion of the domain and your order will automatically be refunded.
CIRA reserves the right to request proof of eligibility at any time, and can delete domains if registrants do not meet their terms. For more information, please visit the CIRA's Registrant Agreement and Canadian Presence Requirements.
Registering .ca domains with the province included
Additional CIRA requirements must be met in order to register these names, as these names are reserved for municipalities.
Domains that include the province in the domain name such as DomaName.ns.ca or SampleName.bc.ca cannot be registered through the SuperbRegistar interface.
Registrant contact for .ca domain names
At this time, the registrant contact information for a .ca domain name can not be changed. This is why it is very important that all registrations are submitted with the correct registrant information.
These types of changes will be available in the future, however there will be a fee. We will post more information on our website once this service has released. Please do not submit a support ticket to ask when this will be available, as we do not have any further information at this time.
If you absolutely must change the registrant contact information for a .ca domain name, you might consider transferring the domain name to a registrar that can accept .ca transfers.
Creating .ca nameservers
If you want to create .ca nameservers, the root name must resolve using those nameservers. You cannot do this on your own. SuperbRegistrar must perform this task for you.
Let's say for example, you register the domain testdomain.ca. If you wish ns1.testdomain.ca and ns2.testdomain.ca to be created, then testdomain.ca must use those nameservers.
Please use the SR ticket system (login to http://mycp.superb.net) to open a new ticket. Include the domain, DNS names, and the associated IP addresses. We will submit to the registry and advise you when complete.
