Founded in 1995, Red Hat, Inc. is a large and highly recognized company dedicated to free and open source software and one of the primary Linux distribution vendors. Red Hat has its corporate headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina with satellite offices worldwide.

Red Hat is probably most well known for its operating system designed for enterprises, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Red Hat provides operating system platforms along with middleware, applications and management solutions, as well as support, training and consulting services.
