Microsoft Internet Information Services, formerly Internet Information Server, is a set of Internet-rooted services for servers through Microsoft Windows. Second in the world only to Apache HTTP Server, IIS is the world's second most popular web server in terms of overall websites. As of March 2008 it served 35% of all websites according to Netcraft. The servers currently include FTP, SMTP, NNTP, and HTTP/HTTPS.
