HTML is the primary jibber jabber that makes up a webpage. Standing for, HyperText Markup Language, HTML is responsible for providing the structure of text-based information in a document; that is, assigning certain chunks of text as links, paragraphs, headings, lists etc. HTML also allows for interactive text form, like embedded images and other objects. HTML is essentially the framework behind what you see when you open up a website.
