Fedora is an RPM based, general purpose Linux distribution developed by the community supported Fedora Project and sponsored by Red Hat. Fedora's mission statement reads, "Fedora is about the rapid progress of Free and Open source software." Fedora is free for anyone to use, modify and distribute; built by people across the globe who work together as a community: The Fedora Project. Open to anyone and everyone who wants to join.

Created in late 2003, one of Fedora's main objectives is not only to include free and open source software but also to strive to be on the cutting edge of such dynamic technologies.

On Fedora's Overview Page, you can find out who uses Fedora, what makes it different from other open source software and how you can get Fedora.
