Secure Certificates

In order to ensure the highest possible level of Internet security and assure your web site's visitors of your site's authenticity and confidentiality of personal and credit card information, we recommend the use of Secure Socket Layer or SSL (HTTPS) and installing your own SSL Certificate.

Step 1:

Order SSL - Secure HTTPS Capability (setup fee - $25)
(You must have SSL/Https capability in order to have your own SSL Certificate.) which installs the secure socket layer encryption protocol. During the process a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) will be generated. This CSR will be used to order your SSL Certificate (see Step 2). In order to generate your CSR you will need to supply the following information (please be specific):

  • Your Name
  • Company Name
  • Full address, city, state, country, zip/postal code
  • Domain
  • Email address

Step 2:

Order your SSL Certificate for as low as $49 - you can order directly from us for only $49 or you may order a SSL Certificate from another Certificate Authority such as those below. You will need to request a CSR from Technical Support if you decide not to order InstantSSL directly from us when ordering your HTTPS (SSL) service.

Once your SSL Certificate has been generated, you will need to email us the key to install.

  • StarterSSL (GeoTrust) - is a 128 bit single root SSL certificate. FreeSSL.com owns the root used to issue StarterSSL certificates making it a stable SSL offering starting at only $29 per month. StarterSSL is already present in the IE 5.01+, Netscape 7 and Mozilla 1 browsers. StarterSSL is an ideal solution for securing websites conducting light levels of ecommerce.
  • SSL Web Server (Thawte) - Thawte is one of the most trusted Certificate Authorities in the marketplace, offering the highest level of security and 99% browser-capability for $199 per year. Offering much the same service as VeriSign at a lower price point.
  • SSL Certificates (VeriSign) - starting at $349 per year (US only) or $449 elsewhere. Considered the "Cadillac" of SSL certificates and are backed by $100,000 of NetSure protection that protects SSL Certificate users against economic loss resulting from the theft, corruption, impersonation, or loss of use of a server certificate.
